How come there is more than one Yellow Cab
company?
“Yellow Cab” is a generic term and there are
several “YellowCabs”, in the area. Our
YellowCab is distinguished by the Yellow top
and White bottom paint scheme. WE are one of
the few companies that only has one paint
scheme to avoid confusion with riders.
Can you pick me up from the John Wayne
Airport?
No. There is walk up service in front of
baggage claim. If you prefer our taxis, you
can pick us up at the Irvine Hilton, just
across the street.
How can I make a reservation with Irvine
Yellow Cab?
Just give us a call 24/7 or use our easy to
use online booking system. If you book
online, you will receive a confirmation.
What
are the costs or fares?
Find out how many miles it is to your
destination, then use our trip calculator or
chat online with us. Taxi fares are $2.65 to
start and $2.50 a mile. There is also a
prorated waiting time charge of about .50
cents a minute. This is the standard Orange
County Taxi Administration Program rate for
the whole county. We can also provide you a
flat rate on request if your going a long
distance or to an airport.
Where can you take me?
Our taxis can take you anywhere in the
continental United States.
Where can you pick me up?
We can pick you up from any residential or
business address in the city of Irvine.
Service can also be arranged through our
local number, for pickups anywhere in Orange
County.
What factors should I consider when making a
reservation?
Typically you would factor in the actual
driving time, add the airport standard
recommendation of 1 hour for domestic
flights and 2 hours for international
flights, and also add another ½ hour to hour
for a safety margin. Check with your local
airline or airport for suggested preparation
time.
I have a
Taxi complaint, what should I do?
All Orange County Taxis have markings on the
back and sides of their vehicles that
identify the unit number. Our taxis are
white with a yellow top, and have the phone
numbers of 1(800)200-0000 and 1(800)4MYTAXI
prominently displayed. Call a service
manager at (714)258-1000 to file any
complaint or concern. Ask for Bill
Gray to receive a world class
service response.
How much
to tip?
Yellow Cab drivers should give you the best
possible service. If you receive great
service, it is customary to tip 10-20% of
the fare.
History?
8004MYTAXI came into existence around 1986,
when a young entrepreneur called a taxicab
and found that a Yellow CabCo offered
terrible service to pick him up. The owner
of our company saw the opportunity to become
a niche leader and started West Coast Yello
Cab at that time with only ten
taxi-vehicles. We quickly grew into a fleet
of over 190.

term in Orange County, there being several

are taxi response times?
Response times vary depending on time of day
and location. Generally, you can expect us
at your location within 5-20 minutes of
calling from anywhere in Orange County,
thanks to GPS tracking and computer
dispatch.
Do you have a lost and found department?
Contact our lost and found department during
business hours or ask for a dispatcher if
your article was lost within a few hours of
discovery. Always get a receipt with the
taxi number. Taxi numbers are3 digit numbers
located on the front rear and rear sides.
Always look behind you as you exit the taxi
to check for your wallet, purse, keys, and
or cell phones.
